Week Rundown! (05/19/13 - 05/25/13)

Sunday was a pretty normal. Malachi and I attended Men's Prayer Breakfast before I ran the church van. For the afternoon, we rested at home and watched more home videos of when Mysia was a baby. After the evening evening services, we met up to get some information on the KWFC Southern Gospel Cruise in January of next year.

Now that Malachi's daycare has closed it's doors, we were thankful that our occasional babysitter, Becca, has agreed to watch him over the summer! We're saddened for those teachers of the daycare who lost their job and we hope that things will work out for them. With that said, Monday started a new change in our morning schedule. Malachi had a great day. Mysia was a bit disappointed because she's enrolled into the Boys & Girls Club for the summer, but she had a great day. Her complaints were forgotten by the time she got home for the evening. Lydia had her first class and came home with a good amount of homework. She focused on that for most of the evening and then well into the night, not getting as much sleep as she wanted.

After the normal day things on Tuesday, we quickly met at home and headed out to the meet with Lydia's extended family for supper and surprise delayed wedding shower for her cousin Daniel and his new bride. We got to visit for several hours, catching up with with how everyone is doing. As it neared 9pm, we headed home to get the kids to bed. Lydia tried to focus on her homework before finally going to bed. She was tired.

Wednesday was fairly normal. We had a quick supper and then headed to church for evening services. Of course, Lydia had homework to do.

Thursday was pretty relaxing. Mysia was enjoying her summer break at the boys & girls club, and of course, Malachi at home with his sitter. Both played well during the evening and actually got to bed at a decent time. Lydia started feeling a cold-like illness coming on, something she doesn't want during this time of a 3-week college class!

Lydia and I both made it home a few hours early after work on Friday. The evening was spent at home with some chores, including me mowing the lawn. Our dishwasher is not running correctly either.... It won't wash the top rack! I tried to see what I could do to fix it, mostly by making sure no gunk or food particles were stuck in the filter, but it appears to be the pump. After the kids had their showers, we made sure they didn't stay up too late before sending them to bed.

Saturday turned out to be the most interesting of the week. We didn't wake up early, and Lydia tried to rest so she would get over the sickness she had been fighting. The kids played when they woke up and we watched a cartoon before heading out to taekwondo classes, leaving Lydia at home. After class, I stayed at the church to help set up flags alongside the road for the Memorial Day weekend. While cutting the zip ties holding the flags as bundles, I slipped and stabbed my hand. Blood gushed out everywhere. I ended up going to urgent care for three stitches and a tetanus shot. (pictures are on facebook) That evening, we did more house chores, got baths and showers, and watched Netflix before bed.

Week Rundown! (05/12/13 - 05/18/13)

I didn't drive the church van on Sunday, and helped the kids serve Lydia breakfast in bed for Mother's Day. We then took showers and got ready for church services. For lunch, we met my family at Hong Kong Garden. They have an excellent buffet with plenty of choices to keep everyone happy. We then returned home and took naps until time for evening services. After church we met Lydia's family at Rib Crib. The kids loved drawing and playing the games on the menu while we visited.

On Monday, Lydia picked up Mysia and took her for a playmate at the park with a friend school before piano lessons. Aunt Adria come over for a visit . Mysia worked on some homework, and Lydia studied for her finals for most of the evening. We watched some tv during supper, and the kids got their showers before bed.

Lydia had her first final Tuesday morning. She then studied for the rest of the day before picking up the kids and coming home. Malachi discovered that the plumber had installed the toilet! Great rejoicing was in our house. LOL! After supper, Lydia met with a classmate to study for one of the finals. The kids took their showers and Mysia completed her homework for the week before I played Mario Kart Wii with them. They are getting pretty good at the game, and can be a challenge on several of the races. It got up around 87 degrees, so the windows were open with the attic fan trying to cool our house for the evening.

Mysia had a field day at her school on Wednesday. There where some outside activities, Andy's Frozen Custard, and a movie. She enjoyed her day. We attended evening services at church and then came home to bed.

Thursday was nice at first, then it rained. I spent most if the day at the golf course helping with the BBC tournament. Lydia picked up the kids after her last final. It was also Mysia last day of school until fall. They had supper and showers before I got home.

Friday was a day off for me. Lydia found out when she dropped Malachi off at daycare that it was the lady day! Due to loss of income and cost of running, they decided to close operations. That gave us a hectic day of phone calls trying to figure out what to do with Malachi for the summer. Before noon I took one of friends, Becca, to get her drivers license. She passed with no difficulties! I was able to find a gas station that had not jumped up in price before meeting with my friend Doug for an afternoon of fishing. I was able to catch (and release) 20 bluegill. Lydia got off work and we met at home for supper. Lydia worked on the menu for the weeks ahead and put together a shopping list.

We got up early on Saturday, ate breakfast and packed up out fishing gear. We then headed to the Family Fishing Day activity put on by our church. The kids fished... Unfortunately, we didn't catch anything but a few water turtles. But it fun to be able to do something as a family. After lunch and a few more tried at catching some fish, we packed up and did a grocery run before heading home. The evening was a bit relaxed, but we did showers and some house cleaning. Before going to bed, we watched some home movies from 2005 when Mysia was a baby.

Week Rundown! (05/05/13 - 05/11/13)

Sunday morning I drove the church van. During Sunday School and the morning services, our church had Hal Hightower preaching. I remember attending youth rallies when I was teen and him bringing the messages. Wow… that was years ago! We enjoyed a restful afternoon, and had good a evening service at church.

The weather was cool on Monday morning, but by the afternoon, things had warmed up quite a bit. I picked Mysia up from school and we stopped by a few places for some sales calls and then back to work before heading to piano lessons. Afterwards, we picked up Malachi and did a rushed grocery run before heading home for a quick supper. Once Lydia came home, we headed to church for revival services. Before heading home, we did another grocery run… whew! It was after 10 when we finally arrived back home. The kids went to bed and Lydia stayed up late working on homework and studying.

It's great to have nice weather again. We had the windows open on Tuesday, but wasn't home to enjoy it. Mysia had a school attendance awards party at the fairgrounds. It included free food, prizes, and games. We spent the entire evening there rushing from booth to booth. Mysia and Malachi had a great time winning the games that were set up. They came home with basketball, soccer-ball, a frisbee, and many other items. The kids got quick showers before going to bed. Lydia stayed up late once again working on homework.

I picked Mysia up from school on Wednesday, and she got to hang out with me for last few hours at my work before we picked up Malachi and headed home. We had a quick supper and when Lydia arrived home from work, we headed off to church. It was the last night of Spring Revival services.

On Thursday evening, tile was installed in our bathroom! However, since it had to dry there were no showers for the evening. Mysia and Malachi had played with the chalk and were covered. When they were done, I turned on the garden hose and sprayed them down! They enjoyed it... almost too much. It made us look forward to summer.

The car started acting up as I left for work on Friday, so I dropped it off at the auto shop before work. Come to find out, the front struts were shot. Thankfully, it was fixed before I picked Mysia up from school. We had a good evening at home, and once the kids went to bed, Lydia and I watched two episode of the "Bible".

Lydia didn't have to work on Saturday, so we got up and ate breakfast before heading out to TaeKwonDo class. It was Lydia's first time, and the kids got to show off their knowledge. The kids rested in the afternoon while I mowed the lawn. Lydia headed out to attend a mother's day banquet with her mom and sister. My parents came by to treat the kids to some ice cream after supper, and I got to go along as well. Abigail and Ethan took the kids out for a game on miniature golf. Our friend Gary came and finished grouting the tile in our bathroom. We had the windows open all evening... and we're glad spring is finally here!

Week Rundown! (04/28/13 - 05/04/13)

Sunday morning was men's prayer breakfast. Malachi spent the afternoon with Granny and Granddad. Mysia and Lydia stopped by the store after church and Mysia spent some of her money on special nail polish. After dinner and a restful afternoon, we headed to church for evening services.

Monday morning, we got up early and out of the house since we're still in the middle of the bathroom remodel. We reached the lower 80's, so the lawn was able to dry out for me to mow before Lydia arrived home. We ate supper, and the kids and I took showers showers at the station before returning home for bed.

The weather was again hot and humid on Tuesday. We had the windows open and the attic fan on! We ate supper and got showers at the station once again. Lydia worked on homework… preparing for finals coming up!

After work on Wednesday, Lydia attend a PTA meeting. That evening, we ate  a quick supper before rushing off to church. It was last service for the children's Master clubs for the semester, and the kids were given their badges and awards.

It was rainy and cold when I picked up the kids Thursday evening. We headed home and ate supper. Lydia and I left the kids with our sitter, Becca, and headed out to a meeting with MEND. It was neat to meet up with other parents who lost children due to miscarriages and still births.

We woke up to snow on Friday! We had to clean off our vehicles before heading out... and here it is May! After picking the kids up after work, I met with our sitter for the evening, Mary, and handed off the kids before going home and getting ready for the night. Lydia came home shortly afterwards and quickly got ready as well. We then headed off to the Gillioz Theatre for the Baptist Bible College Spring Banquet. Even though the weather was nasty, we had a good time. The kids had a fun time that evening as well.

Saturday  morning came quickly. I wanted to stay in bed, but there was a lot to do. Lydia got up and headed to work, and the kids and I attended taekwondo class. After lunch, I made the kids rest and take naps while I worked on several projects. Once home, Lydia worked on the menu and grocery list (I helped). The kids took baths in the new bathtub that evening, even though the bathroom isn't completely finished of the remodel.
