Sunday was a pretty normal. Malachi and I attended Men's Prayer Breakfast before I ran the church van. For the afternoon, we rested at home and watched more home videos of when Mysia was a baby. After the evening evening services, we met up to get some information on the KWFC Southern Gospel Cruise in January of next year.
Now that Malachi's daycare has closed it's doors, we were thankful that our occasional babysitter, Becca, has agreed to watch him over the summer! We're saddened for those teachers of the daycare who lost their job and we hope that things will work out for them. With that said, Monday started a new change in our morning schedule. Malachi had a great day. Mysia was a bit disappointed because she's enrolled into the Boys & Girls Club for the summer, but she had a great day. Her complaints were forgotten by the time she got home for the evening. Lydia had her first class and came home with a good amount of homework. She focused on that for most of the evening and then well into the night, not getting as much sleep as she wanted.
After the normal day things on Tuesday, we quickly met at home and headed out to the meet with Lydia's extended family for supper and surprise delayed wedding shower for her cousin Daniel and his new bride. We got to visit for several hours, catching up with with how everyone is doing. As it neared 9pm, we headed home to get the kids to bed. Lydia tried to focus on her homework before finally going to bed. She was tired.
Wednesday was fairly normal. We had a quick supper and then headed to church for evening services. Of course, Lydia had homework to do.
Thursday was pretty relaxing. Mysia was enjoying her summer break at the boys & girls club, and of course, Malachi at home with his sitter. Both played well during the evening and actually got to bed at a decent time. Lydia started feeling a cold-like illness coming on, something she doesn't want during this time of a 3-week college class!
Lydia and I both made it home a few hours early after work on Friday. The evening was spent at home with some chores, including me mowing the lawn. Our dishwasher is not running correctly either.... It won't wash the top rack! I tried to see what I could do to fix it, mostly by making sure no gunk or food particles were stuck in the filter, but it appears to be the pump. After the kids had their showers, we made sure they didn't stay up too late before sending them to bed.
Saturday turned out to be the most interesting of the week. We didn't wake up early, and Lydia tried to rest so she would get over the sickness she had been fighting. The kids played when they woke up and we watched a cartoon before heading out to taekwondo classes, leaving Lydia at home. After class, I stayed at the church to help set up flags alongside the road for the Memorial Day weekend. While cutting the zip ties holding the flags as bundles, I slipped and stabbed my hand. Blood gushed out everywhere. I ended up going to urgent care for three stitches and a tetanus shot. (pictures are on facebook) That evening, we did more house chores, got baths and showers, and watched Netflix before bed.
