Week Rundown! (03/16/14 - 03/22/14)

We woke up on Sunday to the wind howling and some rain. We got ready and headed out to church. While on the van route, it started sleet. It was "Friend Day" at church, and despite the wintery weather, we had good attendance. The "dinner on the grounds" ended up being inside. We ended up with some snow accumulation!!! We didn't have evening services, so we had a restful time at home. The kids decorated their gingerbread  people and we watched some old tv shows on Netflix. We also finished watching the documentary on the sinking of the Titanic.

Around 5 on Monday morning, Malachi knocked on our bedroom door announcing that his stomach was feeling to well. He tried throwing up, but just some Phlegm  came up. I could feel his stomach tightening and grumbling. Poor guy. He and I spent the rest of the morning in the living room until it was time for the girls to get up. Lydia decided to stay home with him, and I took Mysia to school before heading into work. The evening was nice. After coming home, we worked on supper and the kids put their school things away. We watched a few tv episodes while eating supper and then watched the Croods on Netflix before bed.

When I picked up the kids after work on Tuesday, Malachi had great news. He had been nominated for PRIDE Panther at school. This means he has been showing great behavior. Politeness, Respect, Integrity, Discipline, and Effort. It is something we've been working on with him for a while. The kids and I ate supper before tackling homework and piano practice. We picked up Lydia from her class and she was able to eat supper while working on homework. Mysia spent most of the evening writing an email to a friend while Malachi played. The kids went to bed at a decent time, but Lydia worked on homework through the night, not getting any sleep.

We got up on Wednesday and rushed around. Lydia was tired, and still had homework that wasn't completed. Mysia attended her Pride Choir practice before school. That evening, the kids and I ate supper and then attended church services before picking Lydia up from classes.

On Thursday, Malachi got to attend a performance of "Dinosaur Train" as part of a school field-trip. They were asked to dress up for the occasion and got treated to pizza. He was thrilled. I picked Malachi up after work and we went home to work on supper. Mysia stayed at the boys & girls club to attend a "fashion show club" meeting she's now a part of. Lydia got out of class later that evening and then we got Mysia before heading home to eat supper. With their homework done, the kids watched an episode of "Saved by The Bell" before taking showers and going to bed.

After dropping the kids off at school on Friday, Lydia took me to work and kept the van for the day. After work, I was picked up by my dad and spent the evening with my brother Sam for his "Bachelor Party". Lydia attended a PTA meeting that evening, and then picked up the kids and came home. Malachi got news that he's Star Student in his class for next week! That was exciting to hear. The guys and I had supper at Hibachi Grill and then headed over to the "1984 Arcade" downtown. What a place... for $5, a person can play on all the arcade games! I had a blast. After a few hours of classic retro game playing, we headed out to the camp site. It was a bit cold, but we found a great spot, built a fire, and set up the tents. Us guys did some hiking before crawling into our sleeping bags for the night. Back at home, Lydia and the kids were visited by Abigail and Ethan. They played games before going to bed.

It was a cold night for me in the tent, and I woke up Saturday morning. Thankful for the fire, us guys kept close while making breakfast. After eating, we packed things up and took a hike on one of the trails before heading to church for some clay shooting until noon. At home, Lydia and the kids slept in. Mysia and Malachi spent the morning playing and even watched a movie before I came home for lunch. Lydia had made a grocery list, so after she dropping her off at work for the afternoon, I ate lunch and headed to do some shopping. I was tired by the time we picked Lydia up from work. The evening went well, we watched some tv and read a story before going to bed.

Week Rundown! (03/09/14 - 03/15/14)

Thanks to Daylight Savings Time... we got to wake up early on Sunday! I got up first and made pancakes. We then got ready and headed out for church to run the van for morning services. The afternoon was nice, and Lydia worked on homework while we sat around reading books and playing some games on the Wii. After evening services, we returned home and went to bed.

Monday was start of "Spring Break" for Lydia and the kids. Lydia and I still had to work, so the kids went to the Boys & Girls Club. Mysia had piano lessons and then we picked up Lydia before coming home. The evening went well, and the kids played outside while supper was being prepared.

Lydia was happy not to have class on Tuesday. She spent the evening shopping with her friend Courtney. The kids played for a bit outside, then we ate supper and watched some tv before going to bed.

On Wednesday evening, we ate a quick supper and headed to see the Hoppers in concert. The music and presentation was great. Of course, I really enjoyed it. The kids did well, and kept entertained by sharing the Nook.

Abigail picked the kids up early from the club on Thursday, giving Lydia and I an evening together before we picked them up by 8:15. So we had a mini-date! Yay!!! The kids enjoyed their time with Aunt Abigail and then some time with their Uncle Sam.

Friday evening was fun. The kids wanted a game night, so we pulled out "the Game of Life" and ate supper while playing. It turned out to be one very long game, and after I won, the kids got ready for bed. We then watched "American Tail" before going to bed. Unfortunately, I went to bed with an upset stomach.

My stomach continued to Saturday morning. Lydia went to work and I let the kids play outside after they picked up their rooms. They had a picnic outside and then I had them rest, Mysia reading a book in her room and Malachi taking a nap on the couch. Mysia wrote an email to a friend and Malachi played on the Nook before Lydia came home in time for supper. We watched some tv and after showers watched part of a documentary on the sinking of the Titanic.

Week Rundown! (03/02/14 - 03/08/14)

We woke up Sunday morning to ice and snow. It was declared to hazardous for church vans, and services were cancelled as well. We took advantage of the situation and slept in. We had pancakes for breakfast and enjoyed the entire day at home. It turned out to be a nice relaxing family day. The kids played, Lydia and I organized the kitchen cabinets, and we watched a few movies too!

Because of the ice, schools were canceled on Monday. Lydia went into work while I watched the kids for most of the day. Of course, I was on-air during my afternoon shift, and the kids got to spend time with Granny and Aunt Abigail. I visited as well. Mysia's piano lessons were cancelled and after picking Lydia up from work, we came home and ate supper.

Tuesday was back with the normal schedule. I picked up the kids after work and we ate supper before getting Lydia from her college class later in the evening. The kids did some homework before going to bed.

On Wednesday, Mysia had a sore throat. So after I picked her and Malachi up, we dropped Lydia off at classes and then headed to the clinic at Walmart. We waited for about a hour, and they did a test to see if she had strep. Thankfully, the test came back negative. We were told that she needed to drink plenty of liquids, eat popsicles, and get some rest. By the time we left Walmart, it was too late to head to church services for the evening. We returned home, ate supper, left and picked up Lydia from classes, and then got ready for bed!

Thursday was pretty normal. That evening, the kids and I ate supper and then picked up Lydia from class. We stopped by the mall to exchange clothing for Mysia. Once back home, the kids got showers, we did some reading and then went to bed.

Friday was the beginning of Spring Break for the kids. No school! However, Lydia and I had to work, so they attended Boys & Girls Club for the day. After work, we came home, the kids ate supper, and we dropped them off at Granny's for the evening. Lydia and I had a date night planned. We had dinner at Fire & Ice Restaurant. We even dressed up for the occasion. The kids watched a movie and had fun before we picked them up and came home.

Saturday was a little dreary, weather-wise. Lydia went to work, and while the kids and I attended Taekwondo class. We came home and had lunch and then did some grocery shopping before picking up Lydia. We had promised Malachi that if he had improved his behavior on focusing while at school, we'd treat him to a movie. Well, it worked, and we all went to go see Lego movie in 3D. Yes, it was awesome. I really enjoyed the moral point in the movie as well. Once back home, the kids got ready for bed and I changed clocks in preparation for Daylight Savings Time.

Week Rundown! (02/23/14 - 03/01/14)

We woke up Sunday morning and dropped Lydia off at my parent's house before Malachi and I headed to Men's Prayer Breakfast at church. We then did the van rought for morning services. That afternoon, we had a quick lunch before Lydia headed out to meet with her class group to work on a presentation. Before evening services, we attended the wedding shower of Sam and Madisen. Our friends, the Farnsworths, attended the evening services, and before we returning home, we visited with them at Braums.

Lydia was sick on Monday with the cold, so she stayed home to rest and was able to work on homework as well. That afternoon, we got our new over the stove microwave installed. Mysia had piano lessons before we came home, and after supper we went over to Memaw's house to visit with Uncle Silas, Aunt Kristi, and Cousin Gideon... along with the rest of Lydia's siblings and family.

Lydia and the kids attended the "iMoms" breakfast at school on Tuesday morning. It had gotten cold throughout the day, and the kids were disappointed that I wouldn't let them go bike riding after I picked them up. We headed home and they worked on homework while I prepared supper. We picked up Lydia from class and then Sam. He visited for a while, and we both worked on some computer projects we had been meaning to get together on.

On Wednesday, we woke up with a "dusting" of snow on the ground. Mysia went to "Pride Choir" at school before classes started. She's excited to be a part of a few things in school. Church services were nice that evening, and afterwards, we picked up Lydia from classes and headed home.

The kids wanted to play outside after I picked them up after work on Thursday, but it was too cold. We came home and they got their homework done before we picked Lydia up from classes. Once home, we ate supper and they played before going to bed.

Friday was a bit hectic. We thought we were going to get some severe winter weather, but it dodged us. Lydia attended PTA meeting after work, and I picked up the kids before she got out. We then headed to church to meet up with our Sunday school class. We ate dinner and played games until late. The kids enjoyed the time together with their friends as well.

We got up and ate breakfast on Saturday before heading to taekwondo class. Lydia stayed at home to get things done. Once we made it back, Lydia headed into work for the day (since it's tax season). The kids and I ate lunch and got several things done around the house. They watched some tv and played some games. Mysia got to go to her friends house for over an hour before supper. Malachi helped me install the new faucet in the second bathroom (something I have been meaning to do for over a year now). After supper, the kids got showers. Malachi also got a haircut!
