Week Rundown! (04/21/13 - 04/27/13)

Sunday was fairly routine... I ran the church vans for the morning service, and we even had a nap in the afternoon before heading back to church for choir practice. After evening services we stayed for the birthday and anniversary dinner. It was fun to fellowship and visit with friends.

I woke up early with severe stomach cramps. I obviously ate something the night before that didn't agree with me. I was in pain for most of the morning, and spent the whole day home from work.  Lydia made a great supper, and I was glad my stomach was back to normal. The kids played for the evening, and I made a run to Lowes to purchase a tub and vanity for our bathroom. Lydia worked on homework.

Tuesday was busy. The evening was cold and rainy. We got showers done early, ate supper while watching America's Funniest Home Videos. Before bed, we removed most of the stuff out of the main bathroom.

It was cold on Wednesday. We even had some snow in the early hours. Thankfully, it didn't stick. It was the 1st day of our bathroom remodel! We're so excited. Sure enough, by the time we came home, our entire bathroom was gutted out, and new floor in place. The kids and I quickly ate supper, and then when Lydia came home, we headed out to church for midweek services.

We woke up early and hurried out the house Thursday morning. We needed to be out of the way for those working on our bathroom. That afternoon, I got a visit from some facebook friends and gave them a tour of the radio station before enjoying lunch at the BBC cafeteria. I picked up the kids and brought them back to work for showers. It was close to bedtime after eating supper. Lydia attended a social networking dinner to get to know some if the accounting business in the area. She was excited over some of the prospects she discovered.

On Friday, we again left early so that the workers could get to the bathroom without us in their way. It rained all day. That evening, I picked Lydia up and we headed out for a visitation for my coworker, Ray's mother. Afterwards, Malachi and Lydia went home while Mysia and I attended a dinner and a movie at her school. It was part of the "All Pro Dads" program. Once home, the kids got ready for bed.

It was great to sleep in a little longer than normal on Saturday morning, but it was still a bit of a rush. Lydia got ready for work, and the kids and I got ready for TaeKwonDo class. I made lunch early, since we were to have a potluck dinner after class. It was a special day too... we were divided in to teams and did several different activities. I really worked up a sweat, but it was fun. (there are pictures on facebook). During the last contest, we were asked to stay in one pose for the longest… Mysia was the longest, staying still for over 40 minutes!!! We took naps at home and the kids played until Lydia came home from work. We had supper, and Lydia gave us guys a haircut before she headed out to for shower at her mom's and a evening with her friend Mary. The kids and I headed to my work for showers before coming back home and going to bed.

Week Rundown! (04/14/13 - 04/20/13)

Sunday had very beautiful weather. Lydia had to work again after the morning services, so Mysia and Malachi rode the vans with me before heading home. We made lunch, watched a short video while eating, and got a nice afternoon nap. After evening services, Lydia was able to make it home in time to spend a few hours together before bed.

Lydia woke up sick with a stomach bug on Monday, so she didn't make it to class or work so that she could recover.  I mowed the lawn after I got home and then helped a neighbor move his dog that died. We ate supper and I did a small grocery run. Mysia was able to complete all of her home. Later that evening, I got an intense costochondritis attack, but was able to take some ibuprofen to get the pain down.

After school on Tuesday, Lydia took Mysia to the Doctor to find out why she was having chest pains. We were afraid it might be asthma but found out that it is a pulled chest muscle that we hope will heal within a month. After eating supper, Lydia went to a college group meeting while I took the kids with me for grocery shopping.  Amazingly, the kids did very well, and we survived the trip no problems! They had showers before bed.

We didn't have services due to the visitation of one of our elderly Saints who had passed on to Glory on Sunday. Once back home, we ate supper and spent some family time together.

Even though it rained and we had cold weather, Thursday evening was spent at home. We made supper and cleaned the house!

On Friday, we attended the "Block Party" at Mysia's school. The kids got their faces painted, jumped in the bounce house, and played a few games. We also ate several helpings of cotton candy, snow-cones, nachos & cheese, and hotdogs! Mysia was sure to show off her "little brother" to her friends, reminding them that he'll attending Kindergarten this next school year.

Lydia headed off to work on Saturday morning while the kids and I got up early and headed to our Tae-Kwon-Do class. It was a special day… a testing time for some of our classmates! Instructor Sam even broke a few concrete blocks. We came home and worked on cleaning bedrooms before lunch, and then they took a short nap. The weather was nice, so we spent the latter part of the afternoon outside. I worked on repairing the sump-pump pipe that takes the water from under our house to the ditch. Mysia and Malachi enjoyed playing and running around the yard. Once Lydia got off work, she made a stop by the grocery store, and then came home. We had supper and played some games before going to bed!

Week Rundown! (04/7/13 - 04/13/13)

I did the van route for Sunday morning services. The kids went over to my parents' house while Lydia headed off to work for the afternoon. She's putting in more hours because of tax season. Unfortunately, with college classes, she can get a little stressed out at times. After running the vans, I picked up the kids and we headed home for afternoon naps. The kids and I attended evening services and then a teachers' meeting afterwards. Lydia had made it home from work by the time we arrived.

Mysia had piano lessons after I got of work on Monday. Once home, she worked on her homework before supper. Sam came over for the evening and we worked on our Tea-Kwon-Do forms.

I celebrated my 31st birthday on Tuesday... My boss took me out to Hong Kong Inn for lunch! That evening, I a special dinner (lemon pepper tilapia fish fillets) while watching a childhood favorite with Mysia and Malachi… Disney's "Dumbo"! Lydia was able to get out of her class meeting a bit early and spend some of the evening with us before the kids went to bed.

Wednesday was a bit of a rush like usual. After eating a quick supper, we headed off to church. Because of the rainy weather, we didn't do any activities outside, and many of the children were hyper. But we made it through!

As I headed off to work on Thursday morning, there small snowflakes on my windshield! Go figure… Thankfully the weather warmed up enough to have the windows open during the first part of the evening.

Friday was a very busy day. I was preparing for the big anniversary concert at work. Mysia didn't have school, so she got to hang out with Aunt Abigail for most of the day. The kids got to hang out with Granny for several hours until Lydia got off work. I spent the entire evening working and enjoying the concert. What a night!

We got up and at it on Saturday. Lydia left for work and the kids and I were getting ready for Tae-Kwon-Do Class when I got a chat from Lydia. Apparently our cellular service had been shut off. I tried calling in to talk to a representative about the matter, but only had the option of paying. So the kids and I grabbed our stuff and we headed to my office so that I could use the phone and take care of the matter. Unfortunately, it took several hours to get it cleared up and we missed class. We got to spend lunch with my family. Benjamin and his family were in town for a visit, so the cousins got to play for the entire afternoon! That evening, Lydia and I attended the Pregnancy Care Center annual banquet.

Week Rundown! (03/31/13 - 04/06/13)

We celebrated Easter at church and then spent the afternoon at my parents' house. After eating lunch, the kids did an egg hunt in the front yard. The plastic eggs had change in them.... No kid is going to deny that money isn't neat! Then they hid the eggs for us to find. During the evening services, Mysia and Malachi sang "Jesus Loves The Little Children". They did a great job, and sang out loud and clear.

On Monday, Mysia brought home extra homework, promising her teacher that she'd have it all done and turned in the next day. So she worked at it for most of the evening. Malachi played... ;)

Sam came over on Tuesday to help the kids and I with our Tae Kwon Do forms. It was good to have some one-on-one instruction. We are hoping to test for the next belt in a few weeks.

After school on Wednesday, Lydia took Mysia to a special testing for the WINGS program (designed to identify academically gifted students). Mysia was recommended by her teacher since she is so smart for her age. She was nervous throughout the day, but was excited afterwards, claiming that it was pretty easy! We're so proud of her!

Thursday evening was nice but also hectic. Lydia worked on homework and we got several things accomplished around the house.

The weather was very nice on Friday. Once I picked up the kids and we got home, I pulled out the grill and got cooked salmon. It was great! Mysia and Malachi played outside, enjoying the sun. We opened the windows, airing out the house.

I didn't want to get up Saturday morning, but there were things to do. Lydia went into work and I took the kids to Tea Kwon Do class. Mysia and I were able to get a few more stripes on our white belts! Once home, we ate corndogs and took naps. Lydia had invited family over for supper since my birthday was coming up on Tuesday. So I pulled out the grill and got hamburgers ready. To my surprise, Lydia had bought tickets to see Jurassic Park 3D at the IMAX. Everyone wished me a happy birthday, and we ate supper and cake. I opened my gifts and left for the movie with Lydia. It was our first time to see a movie in 3D… and boy, it was good. Abigail watched both of the kids, and took them to the park and then McDonalds before they went to bed.

Week Rundown! (03/24/13 - 03/30/13)

We had went to bed on Saturday hearing that a 'BIG" snow storm was on its way. When we woke up Sunday morning, there were only big rain  puddles in our backyard. I looked at the forecast, and there was still a storm on the way. I then headed out to church to do the van route and snowflakes had started to fall. By the time I arrived to church, the grounds were starting to be covered with a dusting. Within the next 30 minutes, the vans were cancelled out of safety. They didn't want to risk them sliding around in this weather. I went home, planning to drive back with the family. We watched the weather as it got worse over the next hour or more, and decided not to chance it. It was the first time as members that we all stayed home because of weather.

On Monday evening we watched the "Karate Kid 2" on Netflix at the kids' request. Then it was time for them to go to bed. Lydia and I got a few chores done while watching some tv.

Tuesday turned out to be pretty nice, the snow was melting! Lydia didn't have class meeting during the evening, so we all went to my parents' house. We visited while the kids colored eggs! Several got cracked in the process, but there were three dozen, so it didn't really matter.

After work, we met at home, rushed getting ready, and headed out for Wednesday night services. All the kids got to play a bit outside before services started.

Lydia didn't have classes on Thursday, so she got to get some things done, including getting oil changed on the vehicles, then she met me for lunch. We then took off to look as some things for our upcoming, bathroom remodel. We picked up the kids and found out from Mysia that her school had gone under a "lockdown" before dismissing. Apparently there was a domestic dispute with a shot being fired several blocks away from the school. Things were handled fine, we just wish we were notified by the school. Lydia attended a PTA meeting after supper, in which she found out more facts on what happened than what Mysia had told us. When the meeting was over, she picked us up and we headed out to catch some of the concert with the Talleys. It was then home and showers before bed.

Good Friday! I didn't have to go into work, so I got to stay home and get a few things done. I had wanted to take a nap, but a few phone calls to deal with some bills kept me on hold for most of the afternoon. We had a quick supper once everyone was home, and then headed out to church for a special Tae Kwon Do testing. Silas was in town, and Sam was able to have him test for blue belt! Afterwards, we got to hang out with family and friends... and stayed out late! Mysia got to spend the night at Granny's.

Malachi and I attended Men's Prayer Breakfast with the men at church. Lydia went in to work. And since Mysia was at Granny's, they made treats for Easter. Malachi and I headed for Tae Kwon Do class and then picked up Mysia. Once home, we took naps and got the house picked up before Lydia came home. After eating supper, Lydia went grocery shopping while the kids got their weekly baths. They then watched an animated video on the life of Christ, which included the crucifixion, burial, and resurrection. Once over, they went to bed and Lydia and I continued our Easter tradition of watching the "Passion of Christ".
