Worried Over Privacy? (Wednesday, 06/30/10)

Wow.... Some people are crazy!

Let's take a recent news
article<http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1290518/Mothers-fury-Google-shows-3-year-old-son-naked-garden.html>into
discussion! A woman in Britain is upset that Google posted posted
pictures of her naked three year old son on Street View. She claims that
Google invaded her son's privacy!

One thing... if I was walk outside in the front yard naked, it would be
considered public indecency. I agree that a front yard is private property,
but it is not private from view. If one wants privacy... build a privacy
fence or stay inside!

Second... she claims to be concerned about pedophiles viewing her naked son.
Hey, what about her neighbors and those cruising down her street! If she's
so concerned, why allow her son to be nude outside?

Thirdly... to be sure of privacy of her kid, she did the right thing by
calling the press and giving her full name and town. Yeah, that's real
smart!

I personally don't think Google is in the wrong. They were on a public
street, taking pictures for their service. Anyone driving or walking by has
the right to publicly view the lady's front yard, and so does Google. There
was no invasion of privacy. By allowing the child to streak around the yard,
there was no attempt by the mother or grandmother cover up his exposure.

By the way, that third thought wants me to go venture into whole new topic,
something I will be addressing in future blog post: "If you don't want your

Week Rundown! (06/20/10 - 06/26/10)

Wow... I'm having trouble sending these through correctly I guess.... Here's the late week rundown!

Sunday:

Ahh... Father's Day!

Mysia had given me at tie she had helped make at daycare. It was a regular tie that had "Happy Father's Day 2010" written on it. She was proud of it! So I wore it to church!

After the morning services, we spent the afternoon at my parent's house. Since I drove the church van, Lydia beat me there, and they were in the pool when I arrived. Steak was on the grill, so I changed and joined in the fun!

When dinner was ready, we got out of the pool, but first I tossed Mysia into the air and she under the water she went. We did that a few times. Well, upon the 5th time, she popped back up with a wide-eyed expression on her face. "Daddy! I lost my tooth!" she exclaimed!

Sure enough, her loose tooth had came out! This was the third one to do so! However, loosing it the pool was a first for me! Who would have thought. I tried searching for it, but had no luck. Abigail had goggles, so she dove down and after several attempts, found it! It's a good thing... those roots on it were sharp!

The steak was great! After eating we put the kids down for a nap and visited. Lydia took a nap too! I worked on a wedding program for Saturday, and almost dosed off a few times myself!

Evening services was neat... Pastor asked for testimonies about fathers before doing any preaching. Well, the testimonies kept going that he didn't have time to preach! It had been a while since we've attended a service like that.. it was great!

Monday:

We woke up tired, and in fact.. we slept in! Whooops! No gym today and Lydia had a test for her first class, so it was "hurry hurry" out the door!

The evening went by fairly well. We ate leftovers, which were still good of course.  The kids watched cartoons and played. Lydia gave plasma, and I worked on some projects. However, the biggest highlight of the day for me was installing the new operating system (iOS4) onto our iPhones! I was giddy with excitement with some of the new features! It took a while for the download and install, but I'm very happy with the changes.

Tuesday:

Today was about average. After supper, we had the kids work on their rooms, picking up toys, etc. I helped Malachi, and we we got his room organized. Mysia did a great job on her own.

The grand activity of the evening was that we got rid of the big desk in the living room. We're making progress in our attempt to organize things more, and in anticipation for getting our new sectional on Saturday!

Wednesday:

Oh today was pretty normal as well. Daycare for the kids, work for me, and school for Lydia. Church in the evening, and Mysia went home with my parents since Abigail wanted her to spend the night.

Thursday:

We took Malachi to daycare, Mysia spent the whole day with Abigail and Granny. I had a pretty busy workday. Lydia started her job.. When she picked me up from work, she was excited and really likes her new job.

Malachi, Lydia, and I came home and had spaghetti for dinner before heading out to my parents' house. Lydia dropped Malachi and I off. She then headed of to give plasma. We went inside, got into our swimming clothes, then joined Mysia and Abigail in the pool! We played and played. The kids were having a blast! Granny and Granddad soon joined, much to the delight of M&M. I'm guessing we spent over two hours in the pool before going inside!

We visited for a bit, and then headed home.

Friday:

Six months until Christmas! (I have to put that in!)

We woke up and was running late. We knew that if we'd getting later, we'd miss out on the workout at the gym. Well, we were loading the kids in the car when I noticed that our front-passenger tire was flat!

So they patiently waited as I put on the spare tire. We got the kids dropped off at daycare, but by the time we got to the gym, it was to late to do anything but quickly get our showers!

Lydia had a full day at her work, so that meant she dropped me off a little early, and picked me up a little later than normal time. We headed home, ate supper, then left for Sam's Club to get that tire fixed. Well, it appears that we took too long to get there, because we arrived 5 minutes too late for them to take me in for the tire! We ended up grocery shopping.

On the way home, we stopped by the store and rented the "Rug Doctor". After the kids went to bed, we moved our old couch out into the garage and took the other furniture out of the living room. I then cleaned the carpet! It got several of the stain/spots out!

Saturday:

We had so much planned today, and it got messed up!

I woke up early, not getting to sleep in like the rest, and headed back to Sam's Club to quickly get the tire fixed! tam is early on a Saturday!

They fixed it for free, so I was happy. However, on the way home, the car engine kept shuttering and kick when sitting at the intersection. It was really bad. I pulled into the driveway and it was still doing it, so I called Lydia and told her I'm taking it into the shop. She reminded me that there was a birthday party at 10 and the church VBS visitation too. Both I knew, but the car needed to be looked at. Our week was going to be too busy to take it in, so this needed looked at ASAP!

At the shop, I told them what the problem was. They looked at me in disbelief. But that changed when they brought it in! I watched as they were looking at it, and it kicked real hard! The look on the mechanics face was a sight! I watched as they started looking all over the engine.

I decided to use my phone and look on google. I found that some people had my problem when the radiator fan was not working. So when they told that the engine mount was cracked and needed replaced, and that would fix the problem... I acted perplexed. I asked if it could be that the fan might not be working. I was told that they doubted it, but I seen on one of the mechanic's face that he was giving it thought. So I watched as they put the mount in, and they were looking at the fan...

Sure enough! The fan motor needed replaced. $350+ for the part! Ouch! Oh, by this time, it was already past going to that birthday party. But the car needed fixed. I finally got home at noon!

The next order of the day was getting new beds from my grandma, and then the sectional/couch! I headed over to my parents house to help my dad load the beds in his trailer. Guess what? He had a flat on his trailer!!!! We got that fixed, and got a king-sized bed and a twin bed in the trailer! It was humid and hot, so it was quite a job! We then unloaded beds at the house and went to pick up the sectional. It didn't take too long, and we were finished. I'm so thankful my dad helped me out! Otherwise I wouldn't have gotten it done!

We then got ready and headed to church for the wedding of Ike and Holly. On the way, we dropped off the "rug Doctor" and the car kicked! Several times!!!! Ooooh! Did that make us mad! Here we spent all this money to get the car fixed, and it was still acting up!It sure didn't make us happy at all.

Anyway, it was a nice wedding. I took some video and pictures. The wedding ended with bang... fireworks! It was quite a show!

Back at home, we put the kids to bed, and I set up the bed in our room. We put the sheets in the wash and sat on our new sectional to wait until they were done. After falling asleep, we woke up to find they had not dried all the way, so we spent most of the night sleeping on the couch! They finally dried and we got to crawl into the bed at 5am! What a day.... but Sunday was to turn out just as busy..........................................

And... it's here.... Oh NO!!! (6/24/10)

Okay.. another post on the iPhone... I really like this nifty gadget!

Today, a popular game been released to the iTunes app store. FarmVille!

It is the most popular game on the internet, and most of my friends on facebook play it. I even have family members who are into it as well! So far, I have not even joined into this madness! I have not played it at all.

However... to my shame, I succumbed to the pressure and just downloaded the free app!

Will I play it...? Probably not. I don't want to get into something that will eat away my free time. Facebook and twitter does a good job with that already!!!!

Wow... there's an App for that! (06/23/10)

I'm sure you've heard of the slogan for the iPhone.... "There's an app for that."

Well, it's pretty much the truth. Just when you think that you've seen it all in the iTunes App Store, something comes along that surprises you and makes you shake your head!

Today is no different, I guess! There is a free app today that it funny, but wrong! This app will probably cater to the younger ones... wait, who am I kidding! Almost any guy will download this app!

Called "Fart Battles" you can record and rate your own! Go figure! I don't really think there is a need to go into detail to describe the app, the title is pretty much self-explanatory.

What else will the think of next... or do we really want to know?

Week Rundown! (06/13/10 - 06/19/10)

(I meant to post this on Monday, but forgot to click 'send')

Sunday:

What a nice day! Weather was pretty good, and services were great!

We had lunch with our associate Pastor and his wife at McDonald's. The kids played for a while i the play area before we got the food. After eating, Mysia got to talk to them about her salvation, assuring us all that she understood. We also talked about her baptism... more on that later though!

Evening service was good as well!

Monday:

When we got home, the kids were already tired from a fun day at daycare. Lydia had to run off to a honors program meeting. I got the kids showered and ready for bed. I got Malachi in bed, and received word that Gampa (Lydia's dad) was going to stop by. So I got Mysia finished up by the time he showed up, and let Malachi get up.

They both got to wrestle with Gampa and even had story time. I believe they had him read at least 6 books in a row! Of course, he won them over the second he came in the door.... he had bags of candy!

After Gampa left, we put the kids to bed. They were now super-tired! But I'm glad they got wore out!

Tuesday:

Lydia got a call from her sister, Adria, saying she's wanting to stop by. So Lydia picked the kids up from daycare earlier, and met Adria at the house. Mysia and Malachi enjoyed that, and got to spend some time with their Aunt for a bit.

They picked me up from work, and we had supper. I then went out and mowed the lawn... and I picked a good time to do it. It was nice and cool compared to the previous days!

Wednesday:

Well, nothing too much out of the ordinary happened today! I went to work, Lydia went to school, and the kids went to daycare!

Lydia picked Mysia up early from daycare, thinking that today was the day for Mysia's Daisy Group's field-trip to the YMCA. It's actually tomorrow! But since they were there, and our family has membership, they went swimming anyway!

We had church in the evening... but went to Walmart afterwards! What was supposed to be a quick shop, took us two hours! I got a fishing license and some food items for the trip. Lydia got some items she needed, and we picked up some flag shirts.

When we got back home, the kids were tired, and so were we!

Thursday:

The Daisy Group field-trip was today. Mysia got to rock climb, swim, and even canoe in the pool! She was so excited to tell me about it!

For supper, Lydia made a new dish. Rice with Mediterranean chicken. It was good! The kids were hesitant at first, but I got them to eat it!

Lydia Bio-Life (to give plasma), so while she was gone, I took the kids outside to play... I was sleepy, so I relaxed on the swing and watched them wear themselves out!

After we put the kids to bed, we watched the movie "Glory Road". It's basically "Remember the Titans" with a basketball theme. It was a good movie.

Friday:

We slept in until 8:30! M&M had actually gotten up earlier, and tried to wake us up. I knew if I told them to go play, they'd get into stuff. So I told them to pick up their rooms... so what did they do? They played! :P

After getting up, I started packing for the camp-out. I had taken the day off work specifically for this activity! There was still a few things I needed from the store, so I had to make a quick run before heading out.

Malachi and I left house at 11:30. We picked up my friend Doug, and got to David's house (he lives on Stockton lake) at 12:45. Malachi had taken his nap in the car! We were hungry, so we cooked lunch on the grill and set up camp. We decided to do some fishing... Malachi quickly got bored with that, and ended up playing in the lake. Doug and I didn't catch anything, and since it was pretty hot (93 degrees with hardly any wind), we headed back to camp. We visited, ate supper, and Malachi played in the pool. I too got in the pool! It was cold, but it sure felt great!

As it got dark, others joined at the campsite. We sat around and talked, even played on our phones. Yeah... we were roughing it! We even had fans in our tents! lol! We had marshmallows over the fire, and before bed we had devotions. Malachi fell asleep during prayer. I visited for another hour before turning in shortly after midnight!

Meanwhile... back at home, after us guys left.... Mysia took nap, Lydia did homework. Mary (Doug's wife) came over around suppertime. She stayed over with Lydia, that way they had a "girls night". They ate pizza and visited. They got the idea to gym and swim, unfortunately, the pool was closed. So they went went to Jordan Valley Park and played the water there.  Came home around 9, did toenails, talked, and watched movie. Lydia said she didn't get to bed until after 3!

We all had an eventful day!

Saturday:

Mysia got up at 6:45, Lydia let her watch cartoons. The gals cooked breakfast.. omelets! They watched a movie and according to Lydia, they were "pretty much lazy" for the rest of the afternoon!

For us guys, things were pretty good. I woke up when the sun shone through our tent, but seeing Malachi was still asleep, I went back to sleep as well. There was some talking outside the tent, and he stirred a few times. But it wasn't until he heard one of the other kids talking did he get up!

We had had wonderful breakfast! Eggs, bacon, biscuits & gravy.... yum!. We decided to pack up a few things before it got to hot, but several were headed out on the pontoon boat and we got the invitation to come along. So the tent was abandoned and we climbed an board! Several of the little girls were there (our host's Granddaughter's, Malachi's age), and Malachi played with them instead of riding in the boat. Go figure! hehe!

I had a nice time on the lake. Unfortunately, I didn't catch anything! We came back to camp in time to prepare lunch... fried fish! We packed up what was left, ate lunch, and then headed home. Poor Malachi was tired, so he slept in the car!

At home, I unpacked the car and got a little rest. Malachi cuddled with Lydia for twenty minutes before we took our showers!

That evening, we dropped the kids off at my parents and we attended an important concert! It was a tribute concert, in remembrance of the Cathedral Quartet! Wow... what a concert! It was soooo good! Definitely worth the money for the tickets! We got to hear some classics. I knew every song that was sung! In fact, I think I sang along with each one too! I wish I had a recording of the concert......

Because of the concert, we got home late. We didn't stay up much longer, we were all tired!

Ouch! Glass in my Foot (Friday, 06/17/10)

Today, I took a nice walk at lunch, which has became a new routine for me. I was on my way back to work and the sun was beating down on me as I trekked along the road in the 90° heat! I wasn't really paying attention to the road before me... my mind in the clouds I guess. All of a sudden, there was a crunch, and a sharp pain in my left foot. I immediately hopped on my right leg and gasped in pain. Oh, did it hurt!

I had stepped on a piece of glass that went through the sole of my shoe and into my foot! It was tightly logged in the tread of my shoe, and I couldn't pull my foot out due to the fact it piercing my foot. Not the best situation while on the side of a road with a good amount of traffic, and no sidewalk!

I bit down on my teeth, enduring the pain, as I wiggled the glass out of my foot and shoe! The glass was fairly large, and was surprised that it had easily found it's way through my shoe! I ended up limping my way back to work, hopping that there wasn't too much blood. When I got back to my desk, I cleaned and bandaged my foot!

The one complaint about the whole ordeal though.... a good sock has a hole in it, thanks to the glass!

Tech Post: A Fix for Low Signal on the iPhone (Tuesday, 06/15/10)

I really like my iPhone. I depend on it more and more. I use it for notes, contacts, and keeping up with everyone. It comes in handy for everything... and like the advertisements say, there truly is an app for that!

Here in town, I get great signal. AT&T's has really raised the bar here. But when I get out of the area, that's where the trouble begins. Even at church, which is outside city limits, can be spotty. Our new auditorium seems to block the signal, it just can't penetrate the steel I guess. So I often get 'no signal' or I'm on the "edge" network. It's not like I need to be browsing the internet during services, but before and after is nice!

Well, while doing some searching on the internet for neat tips and tricks for the iPhone, I came accross a thread that gave me an answer. It appears that the iPhone tends to have trouble switching over to "edge" at times, and keeps searching for 3G when it's not available. The website said to go under options and turn 3G off, therefore forcing the phone to just use the "Edge" network.

So, I gave it a try... and it works! Yay!

So the next time we go to Branson, I'm testing this out!

Week Rundown! (06/06/10 - 06/12/10)

This week flew by... nothing too specific to write about on some of the days I guess! So some are just notes on what happened that day!

Sunday:

Drove van for church. That afternoon, Lydia attended a wedding shower for a couple in our church, Ike & Holly, while I kept an eye on the kids.

Monday:

Lydia started classes! Whooohoo! :P

Later that evening I practiced with the quartet. We're gearing up for our sing on Saturday!

Tuesday:

We watched "Narnia: The Lion, The Witch And the Wardrobe". The kids actually got to bed later than usual, but it was good to have some family time together.

Wednesday:

A normal busy day. Of course, we attended church services.... When we arrived back home and it didn't take long for us to go to bed! Ha!

Thursday:

I had sick day... blech!

However, later that evening, the quartet had one last practice. We worked on a few of the songs that needed a little more practice!

Friday:

Lydia rushed around for the day, doing errands and grocery shopping.

After I got off work, we rushed home got ready, then headed to a friend's wedding. Ben & Ana were there, so we them for a bit. The wedding was beautiful! Lydia's sister, Lycia was there, and as she passed by after saying hi, Malachi looked at me, pointed to her, and said, "I love her....!" He's such a card!

After the wedding, we visited with a few people we hadn't seen in a while and then headed over to the funeral home down the street. Edith, a close neighbor to my parents and grandma, had passed away. She had lived a long life, but we'll still miss her!

We went back home, organized the living room a bit, got the kids to bed, and then tried make sense of our "organization" attempt. lol!

Saturday:

Time to sing! We all met at Sam's Club and carpooled to Persimmon Hill Farm in Lampe, MO. Lydia had dropped me off and took the kids to visit her grandmother. They had a good visit, and M&M got to play too!

The quartet had fun, and it was an interesting setting. It was outside, the mics were sensitive, and we had to adjust a few things. However, it turned out pretty good, and we enjoyed singing to all that was there! I have pictures, and had originally set up the video-camera, but for some reason it didn't record!

I got home after 3pm, and Lydia was wore out with the kids being as energetic as they were! We ate supper and watched some tv! Later that evening, Lydia and I still worked on re-arranging the living room!

Malachi: “Oh Wow” (Friday, 06/11/10)

Malachi is a smart 2 year-old! Every day he surprises me with something he says or does. He seems to notice things that I wouldn't think a kid his age would, and he has a great mind for figuring things out!

His words and sentences are also "big" as well. For example, the other day while Lydia was driving the car and we were heading home, Malachi piped up and said, "Daddy, I thought you were going to drive..." That stunned me! I'm always assuming simple sentences coming from his mouth.

Well, there is one thing that it special (or specific) about Malachi's way of wording things. And if you are around him quite a bit, you catch on. But let me explain...

It all started when he first started doing things, like crawling and saying words. When he would make some accomplishment, whether great or small, Lydia and I would comment with "Oh wow!" We obviously also used it at the end of sentences when pointing out something. For example, let's say we were pointing out a hot rod while driving. We'd say, "Hey Malachi, look over there at that cool car. Oh wow!"

I guess this has caused Malachi to add the phrase to the end of most of his exclamations! When coming to show us something, he'll explain it, and then say "Oh wow!" It's funny. He'll add it all the time. It's now an expression that is constantly used for everything. So if you're around him sometime, take note. It's pretty neat. You'll never know what he'll come up with!

Oh wow!

Week Rundown! (05/30/10 - 06/05/10)

Sunday:

Today was typically normal. The only difference is that we had quartet practice in the afternoon at church. We've got that concert coming up soon, and we are really trying to get it all put together!!

Monday:

We got up and tried to get around quickly. We met my folks and siblings at the gravesite of my grandpa at 10. Granny gave the kids flags, and we sang several songs. At 11, we met Lydia's family at the gravesite for her grandpa. They're both at the same cemetery.

Afterwards, we went grocery shopping at Walmart! What a thing to do on a day off, eh? Well, it had to be done. By the time we got done, we had little time to drop the stuff off and head out again!

Our friends, Doug & Mary, had invited us and others over to their house for a cookout. Unfortunately, others weren't able to make it. But we didn't let that hamper our fun. We talked, played some outside games, and ate! We had steak, salad, watermelon, ect. It was very, very good. Doug had made the steak sooooo tender, I probably ate too much!

It was also hot! So around 6ish, we packed up the stuff, and headed over to Jordan Valley Park. They have a man-made wading stream. So we cooled off in there, playing in the water and the fountain. Boy, did it feel good!

When we finally got tired, we headed back to Doug and Mary's to watch a movie and have some rootbeer floats! Malachi was wore out, and fell asleep before the movie was half-way over!

We crashed when we arrived back home! What a day!

Tuesday:

Back to work. Ugh...! I almost need another couple of days to rest some more!

I had quartet practice tonight, and all seemed to be going well at first, but when we decided to pull out the microphones and practice using the sounds system, the speakers wouldn't work. Apparently, we blue out the fuse in the sound system! Go figure. It was a good practice though!

Wednesday:

Today was typical. Went to gym, work, and church!

Oh... Lydia has had classes all week. She's keeping busy for sure!

Thursday:

Today, Lydia had her final test for the class she took during her spring break. She worked very hard and is glad she's finished!!!

Mysia's Daisy Scouts had their meeting today instead of Wednesday. They got to visit one of the fire departments. They learned about fire safety, and how the firemen live at the station.

I mowed the lawn when I got home. It needed it! Lydia worked on supper while I was sweating in the heat!

Supper was fish, backed potatoes, and corn on the cob. This is one of my favorite meals! Mysia was having trouble eating her corn... one of her teeth was loose, and she was afraid it might fall out! We encouraged her though, and she pulled it out! No crying either! This is her second tooth!

Friday:

Boy, was I so glad today got here! And although it seemed to drag, the evening was a relief. We planned on having hamburgers on the grill, and since we had quite a bit, we invited Doug & Mary over to share. Plus, we decided to play in the sprinkler too! I made BBQ burgers... and ooooh were they good! Nice and juicy!

After we went back inside, we put the kids down for bed and watched Indiana Jones!

Saturday:

Lydia had a test at MSU for an application/job at 8am... and I had an appointment to drop the car off at the shop at 8 as well! So we got up got ready and headed out. I dropped Lydia off and rushed to the car shop. Sam met me there, and we loaded the kids into his truck. I left the car at the shop and Sam dropped us off at home.

For the next several hours, we waited. Our car had been "kicking" when we'd sit idle at a stoplight, and I was afraid it was going to die on us. So the shop said they'd look into it. Well... the kids and I watched cartoons. Finally, they said to come and get it. They couldn't find anything wrong. My grandma came and picked us up and took us to the shop. The manger said since it all looked well, the cost was on the house. I was happy. And so far, no kicks! (makes me wonder what they did)

I picked up Lydia and we came home. The kids were tired, so they took a nap. I did too! Lydia stayed up working on things for one of the classes she took. After our naps, which was too short in my opinion, we headed off to Ralph and Jessica's house for a birthday/pool party for Ralph and their daughter. The kids played.... I think there were at least 16 of them! Talk about a lot of squeals and laughter!

We ate Ribs, steak, and cake! It was a bit hot, but we still had fun! Mysia and Malachi were wore out by the time we got home! .... and so were we!

The Super-Dad Way of Watching Your Kid!

Well, as you can see... Malachi is being kept busy by watching a movie
on my iPod! Ain't I a great dad?

It sure makes it easier for me! Lol!

In case you're wondering, he's watching "Toy Story".

Week Rundown! (05/23/10 - 05/29/10)

Sunday:

Lydia woke up around 4ish not feeling so good! All I could think of was the past two Sundays, and how sickness has been a running theme!

I left early for church, since it was our monthly Men's Prayer Breakfast. Lydia was feeling better, and still sleeping, which was a good sign! I called her as I left church for the van route, and she assured me that she was fine and would be at church. Whew!

I met Lydia as they came into the church. We where shortly informed that our tire was flat. Sure enough, apparently Lydia struck a nail on the way into church. Thankfully, she got into the lot and parked before it went completely flat!

After dropping the my riders off and returning to the church, the car was sitting on the rim. So I put on the spare. Other than that, the afternoon was pretty normal. Lydia worked on studying for a math test she has coming up on Friday (she's trying to test out of taking a class). I played around on my iPhone...

The biggest highlight of the day happened after services! Mysia asked the Lord into her heart!!!

Of course, we talked and shared the news to all those present, then called many relatives. I also blogged about it too! It was too much of importance to share right then, instead of putting it off for this week rundown!

Monday:

We took it easy on the car, no highways! The kids went to daycare, we went to gym, then Lydia dropped me off at work before heading back home. After work, we came home and ate real quick... sloppy joes! Yum! We also closed the windows and turned on the air-conditioner! It had gotten to hot and humid to keep them open.

The kids and I dropped Lydia off to give plasma, and we headed to Sam's Club to get the flat tire looked at. As I figured, it was in too bad of shape to be repaired. So I ended up getting two brand new tires! Come to find out, my tires were originally purchased in 2007... that's a pretty good lifespan! While waiting for the tires to be put on, we looked around and watched some tv.

It didn't take long, and we were soon on our way to pick up Lydia. Back at home, gave the kids popsicles before giving them showers and putting them to bed. Lydia and I did some chores around the house and watched a bit of tv before going to bed too.

Tuesday:

7 more months until Christmas! lol!

Lydia had a job interview for a bank near the college. It went well, and she is excited!

Since the kids got little time to spend with their grandparents over last weekend, my mom asked if she could have them for a bit in the evening. We didn't mind! (hey, free time for us) Lydia dropped them off at 4, before coming to pick me up from work. We ate and went and seen a movie for $1 each. It was nice to spend some time together. Oh, and the kids enjoyed their time with Granny and Granddad too!

Wednesday:

A busy day! Lydia had class and then took Mysia to her Daisy meeting. She wasn't going to get to pick me up from work until after 6, so I decided to walk home when I got off at 5.

Ha! It was hot and humid! I thought for sure that I'd get to the house before them, but I was wrong. However, I was also glad! Lydia picked up Malachi, and then got me from the side of the road! Air-conditioning felt sooooo good!

Of course, church was tonight. Again, it was good to sit in the services and hear Pastor's preaching!

Thursday:

Lydia picked me up from work after getting the kids and we headed home. As soon as I got there, I changed my clothes and mowed the lawn. It was hot and the grass was long! Because of the rain over the past few weeks, I hadn't the chance to mow! I took a few water breaks!

After I finished, I headed in to eat. The kids and Lydia had already started. Lydia soon left to go shopping with her friend Mary. I ate while the kids and I watched some movies. I got them to bed by the time Lydia got back home.

Friday:

A day off! Hooray!

The plan was to spend the day with Lydia. However, she had a math test at the school that was going to last several hours. So I dropped her off, and headed over to KWFC. I got to visit with Dave Taylor during his morning show, and even got to partake in the "Great Ozark Sing-A-Long" by singing on air with Gold City's "Ain't God Good"! It had been a while since I had visited the station, and it was fun to be able to be on air too!

After I picked up Lydia, we went to her doctor's appointment that had been pushed back from earlier in the week. By that time it was over, it was almost noon. So we ran home, grabbed lunch, and headed out for what I had planned....

I surprised Lydia by taking her to the Japanese Stroll Gardens. And we had a nice time walking around talking and spending the time together. It was a bit hotter then I expected, so after a bit, we headed home and took a nap (I'm not kidding) until time to pick up the kids!

We ate pizza for supper, and then met with my parents and Uncle Dallas for some mini-golf! It was a little more crowded, but we still had fun. Afterwords, we went to McDonald's for some ice cream!

Saturday:

"Gone Fishin'!"

Yup, that's what we did. Our church held a family fishing activity at the Bois D'Ark Conservation Area. Poles and bate were provided, along with hot dogs. All we had to bring were chips, soda, and sunscreen! We fished for several hours. Malachi caught a fish, and I did as well. Unfortunately, Mysia and Lydia didn't. But boy, they sure tried. The one I caught would have been Mysia's... I had made the cast, and before I could give her the pole, the bobber went under, so I reeled it in. Looking back, I guess I should have let her. But excitement had settled in, and I didn't want to loose the catch!

When the fishing time was over, Lydia went to her mom's, and took Mysia with her. Mysia took a nap when they got there. I had charge of one of the church vans, to drop the kids off at their homes. So I took Malachi with me. It was a pretty long route, so he had a good nap before I arrived at Paulette's. Once there, we ate and watched moves until it had gotten late.

Back at home, we got showers, and went to bed!

The Driver.. (Tuesday, 06/01/10)

Lydia usually drives car since she drops everyone off. It makes it easier on us. Because of our height difference, it also makes it easier so we're not adjusting the seat, pedals, and steering wheel back and forth all the time.

Well, I have found out that when I announce that I'm driving, Malachi replies with, "Oh Yeah!"

I think it's funny.... Lydia, not so much! lol!

Well, as we were getting back into the car after shopping at Walmart the other day, I mentioned that Lydia was going to drive. I busted out laughing because of Malachi's response...

"Oh no...!"
