Week Rundown! (03/16/14 - 03/22/14)

We woke up on Sunday to the wind howling and some rain. We got ready and headed out to church. While on the van route, it started sleet. It was "Friend Day" at church, and despite the wintery weather, we had good attendance. The "dinner on the grounds" ended up being inside. We ended up with some snow accumulation!!! We didn't have evening services, so we had a restful time at home. The kids decorated their gingerbread  people and we watched some old tv shows on Netflix. We also finished watching the documentary on the sinking of the Titanic.

Around 5 on Monday morning, Malachi knocked on our bedroom door announcing that his stomach was feeling to well. He tried throwing up, but just some Phlegm  came up. I could feel his stomach tightening and grumbling. Poor guy. He and I spent the rest of the morning in the living room until it was time for the girls to get up. Lydia decided to stay home with him, and I took Mysia to school before heading into work. The evening was nice. After coming home, we worked on supper and the kids put their school things away. We watched a few tv episodes while eating supper and then watched the Croods on Netflix before bed.

When I picked up the kids after work on Tuesday, Malachi had great news. He had been nominated for PRIDE Panther at school. This means he has been showing great behavior. Politeness, Respect, Integrity, Discipline, and Effort. It is something we've been working on with him for a while. The kids and I ate supper before tackling homework and piano practice. We picked up Lydia from her class and she was able to eat supper while working on homework. Mysia spent most of the evening writing an email to a friend while Malachi played. The kids went to bed at a decent time, but Lydia worked on homework through the night, not getting any sleep.

We got up on Wednesday and rushed around. Lydia was tired, and still had homework that wasn't completed. Mysia attended her Pride Choir practice before school. That evening, the kids and I ate supper and then attended church services before picking Lydia up from classes.

On Thursday, Malachi got to attend a performance of "Dinosaur Train" as part of a school field-trip. They were asked to dress up for the occasion and got treated to pizza. He was thrilled. I picked Malachi up after work and we went home to work on supper. Mysia stayed at the boys & girls club to attend a "fashion show club" meeting she's now a part of. Lydia got out of class later that evening and then we got Mysia before heading home to eat supper. With their homework done, the kids watched an episode of "Saved by The Bell" before taking showers and going to bed.

After dropping the kids off at school on Friday, Lydia took me to work and kept the van for the day. After work, I was picked up by my dad and spent the evening with my brother Sam for his "Bachelor Party". Lydia attended a PTA meeting that evening, and then picked up the kids and came home. Malachi got news that he's Star Student in his class for next week! That was exciting to hear. The guys and I had supper at Hibachi Grill and then headed over to the "1984 Arcade" downtown. What a place... for $5, a person can play on all the arcade games! I had a blast. After a few hours of classic retro game playing, we headed out to the camp site. It was a bit cold, but we found a great spot, built a fire, and set up the tents. Us guys did some hiking before crawling into our sleeping bags for the night. Back at home, Lydia and the kids were visited by Abigail and Ethan. They played games before going to bed.

It was a cold night for me in the tent, and I woke up Saturday morning. Thankful for the fire, us guys kept close while making breakfast. After eating, we packed things up and took a hike on one of the trails before heading to church for some clay shooting until noon. At home, Lydia and the kids slept in. Mysia and Malachi spent the morning playing and even watched a movie before I came home for lunch. Lydia had made a grocery list, so after she dropping her off at work for the afternoon, I ate lunch and headed to do some shopping. I was tired by the time we picked Lydia up from work. The evening went well, we watched some tv and read a story before going to bed.
